My Story

Bismillah….

I am the eldest of 6 daughters, bought up by my loving parents, for which I’m just so grateful to Allah swt.

I studied Law, graduated with honours Law LLB then went onto study my LPC (equivalent to a Masters) at the College of Law in Bloomsbury, London. Secured my training contract and qualified as a solicitor, specialising in criminal law. An advocate for victims of domestic abuse and loving being in a court room.

Being an advocate in court was my passion, a voice for the victims and witnesses. Only too conscious it wasn’t just a criminal file that I was presenting to the Magistrates and District Judges, but a true-life criminal experience, of victims seeking Justice. I was grateful to Allah swt for this role, working hard, being the best I could be and bringing up a young family at the same time.

Brought up with strong family values I continued to take an active role as a daughter, sister, wife, daughter in law and the most blessed as a mother Alhamdolillah.

Absolutely loving life Alhamdolillah, balancing a career I loved with the love of my family. However...

Two decades into my legal career...

Suddenly my health took a turn for the worse. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a debilitating long-term chronic condition. Fibromyalgia was now dictating the pace of my work and the inability to sustain a work-life balance.

There were days when I couldn’t come down the stairs because of the excruciating pain in my body especially my legs. I couldn’t pick up the kettle to make myself a cup of tea. I could not sleep at night. I couldn’t wear what I wanted as fitted sleeves or trousers would bring on excruciating pain that would last for days.

Being constantly tired was the worst. People would tell me to rest up, to get some sleep and you’ll be back to your normal self. If only this was true... There was no getting better after a ‘rest’. The tiredness, the fatigue, the brain fog, and even stringing a sentence together was constant and difficult.

It was taking over my life to the point where I could not even recognise myself. The girl who started work at the age of 16 years, diligently balancing work and study, navigating through the challenges of a demanding yet rewarding profession, who always gave her unwavering support and time for those she loved and cared for, suddenly, she was unrecognisable.

Who was I now?

I have always been someone who values hard work and dedication. I planned on practicing law for the whole of my working career, retiring from Law in my late 60’s. However, I was beautifully reminded…

وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَـٰكِرِينَ

وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَـٰكِرِينَ

And Allah is the best of planners.

And Allah is the best of planners.

The Holy Qur’an, Surah Al-Anfal, V.30

How true this is SubhanAllah…

Where Allah closed one door for me, he opened another…

I needed Allah more than ever before, it was in his sanctity that was the one place I felt a true sense of revival and healing because the only thing that was certain in life, despite all of my difficulties, was Allah swt’s words and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.

It’s true, when Allah swt is testing us, He is preparing us for something better, strengthening us spiritually, mentally, and physically. I learnt to embrace what was happening to me and to channel my hardships into khair. Never lose hope. Always rely on Allah swt, there is always something to be grateful for. Always.

I felt a strong calling towards life coaching through Science of the nafs Quranic psychology. I wanted to share what I had learned with others facing their own life trials. While I initially thought this transformational healing was solely for my personal journey, Allah swt had a different plan. My Rabb was healing me and redirecting both my career and my life to help others. SubhanAllah.

What I do now is live my life with purpose and passion.

I empower professional Muslimahs to live their best life, Alhamdolillah.
